“Be a Bro, Not a Bystander”
Welcome to Project: White Rakhi – a grassroots initiative aiming to tackle issues around sexual harassment, gender equality, respectful relationships and hopefully one day ending domestic violence in society.
Project: White Rakhi (PwR) empowers individuals and communities to take ownership of the problem and stop the victimisation of women by promoting gender equality, respectful relationships and redefining male stereotypes.
This campaign aims to shape positive, respectful role models for young men. A key part of this campaign is changing the attitude that young men have towards women.
We want men to be “bros” rather than bystanders in situations of injustice. We urge men focus on credentials rather than the view of women as mere potentials. We want to transform an almost predatory approach to one of genuine equality and respect.
“I’m not saying I’m gonna change the world, but I guarantee that I will spark the brain that will change the world.” – Tupac Shakur.
